Volunteering

We welcome volunteers of all ages and abilities. Please peruse the following list of current volunteer needs and contact director Ruth Allard at (802) 257-5725 for more detailed information. Bookmobile

  • volunteer at a specific stop, reading to children and assisting the librarian
  • help with our twice annual cleaning and restocking of the vehicle
  • join our select group of volunteers who process, clean and repair books

Books and Breakfast

  • read in one of our programs one morning a week (training and support provided)
  • prepare books for our twice annual book give-away days

Family Book Bags

  • help us create new themed bags for families with preschoolers
  • check all bags once a year and restock as needed

Fund Raising

  • Book Sale ~ help us sort, set up and sell new, donated books in November
  • Tour de Book ~ help us plan this June bicycle event that supports the Bookmobile
  • contact us for a list of 20 ways to help us raise funds, or create your own!

Love Me, Read to Me

  • prepare board books for distribution to families with new babies

March Reading Challenge

  • join the committee and help us make the 20th Challenge the best one ever!
  • collate and mail out packets to schools and libraries
  • help with the breakfast for school contact people
  • help with our 20th Reading Celebration at the end of the Challenge

Raise a Reader

  • help us keep child care centers and pediatrician offices stocked with books and Raise a Reader brochures

Summer Reading Lists

  • write an annotated list for a specific age group (prototype provided)
  • collate and mail out packets to schools and libraries

  • photography
