Red Clover Award

The Red Clover Award invites children in Kindergarten through fourth grade to experience the best picture books published each year and helps them develop a lasting appreciation for excellence in writing and illustration. Now a statewide program with over 25,000 participants, this children's choice picture book award created by Windham County Reads is under the auspices of the Vermont Center for the Book. The Vermont Departments of Libraries and Education are co-sponsors.

"This program elicits tremendous enthusiasm for books and reading, and it gives teachers the information and practical skills they need to provide meaningful instruction, engage students in book discussions, and align these experiences with expectations in Vermont's Framework of Standards."   ~ program co-sponsor
